Hi Will. Yes, you can restore an older version backup into a newer version of QuickBooks. It will take the backup file (.QBB) and create a working .QBW file, but before you can open that .QBW company file it will need to update it to 2010. Once that happens you cannot open it in QB 2007 anymore so make sure that is OK. If I remember correctly it will force you to make a new backup before it updates the data file, just in case something goes wrong. But the software will walk you through the whole thing. Just follow along and be sure to read each step so you know what is going on. Good luck!

Good information. But what I am doing is restoring from an earlier version of QB (2007) and loading it into a new version of QB, version 2010. Will this work?

Found this by accident on Itune. As I am treasurer for a society, this was very helpful. I know a bit about Quick Books, but some of the information given by Mike were very useful. I look forward to more episode and encourage people who are using Quick books to listen to the episode. You will get something out of the presentation. Very well done and thanks
